Eric J. Pan is an Associate Professor of Law and the Director of The Samuel and Ronnie Heyman Center on Corporate Governance at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. He received his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School, M.Sc. with distinction from the University of Edinburgh, and A.B. magna cum laude from Harvard College.
He is currently serving as an Academic Fellow in the Office of International Affairs at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, DC.
He has been asked to advise the Commission and its senior staff in the implementation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and coordination and cooperation efforts with non-U.S. regulators.
He will return to his academic position in January 2012. He also served as an advisor to the Canadian Ministry of Finance on reform of the Canadian securities regulatory system.
Prof. Pan is an elected member of The American Law Institute, an advisory board member of the Centre for Financial Regulation and Economic Development in Hong Kong, and an editorial committee member of the Journal of Regulation.
