He is currently on extended leave in Paris and was previously an Acting Group Manager within the Office of Transportation.  He has been involved with the implementation of national air quality standards with the transportation industry along with the States, including the review of California’s request for a waiver of federal preemption for its greenhouse gas emission standards. 

Among his regulatory, compliance assistance (for regulated parties), and enforcement activities, he also has been involved with the review of alternative fuels including ethanol.
