Nicolas Curien is a graduate of the Université Paris IV-Pierre et Marie Curie and a former student of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole nationale supérieure des télécommunications (ENST). He is currently a Professor at the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (CNAM). He has held the Chaire Economie et Politique des Télécommunications at that institution since 1992. He was appointed a member of the Acaémie des technologies in 2000. In 2005, he was nominated to the board of the Autorité de régulation des postes et des télécommunications (ARCEP—French postal and telecommunications regulatory authority). He has been a member of GDF-Suez’s Conseil scientifique since 2010.

Author of a number of publications concerning telecommunications, postal, and media economics, he notably co-authored La neutralité d’Internet with Winston Maxwell, which was published in the Repères collection by Editions La Découverte in 2011.
